53% of countries have stopped or partially interrupted the treatment of hypertension, 49% – treatment of diabetes, 42% – of cancer. In almost all countries (94%) health professionals have partially reoriented to help people with COVID-19.

«Many people who need treatment for diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes have not received medical care or medication since the pandemic began», stated Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO General Director.

A large number of humans bearing from non-communicable illnesses have not received help because of the rapid spread of coronavirus, according to WHO. In many countries doctors retrained to help patients with Covid-19 and, as a result, could not provide assistance to other patients.
