Coronavirus fakes are spreading at extreme speed. This affects practically everything that is associated with pandemic – you can see untruthful information about the number of infected people, the symptoms, and ways of propagation, but the biggest disputes arise when it comes to the origin of the virus. A group of researchers who studied the structure SARS-CoV-2 came up with a single assumption about how this virus appeared.
One of the myths about the coronavirus is that its emergence is the result of the work of scientists who brought it out artificially.
The new analysis of SARS-CoV-2 finally has shown it is a mistaken belief. Scientists have compared the gene of the new coronavirus with the already known coronaviruses which can infect humans: MERS and SARS. In the journal «Nature Medicine» researchers say: «Our study has shown that SARS-CoV-2 is not a laboratory construction and not a manipulated virus».
As a result, the research team suggested two possible scenarios of virus occurrence:
People got the virus directly from animals. Scientists assume that a bat had transmitted the virus to an intermediate animal and that a human has already been infected by it.
The virus also got to a man from an animal but it evolved and adapted to be able to penetrate better into human cells in a man’s body.
Studying the origin of the virus will help scientists to understand how the virus may behave later and whether it will cause new outbreaks of disease.
